Katie Gallagher: Fashion Week 2010 – The Heart of the Woods and What I Found There.
Katie Gallagher’s handcrafted designs are some of the most desirable in the city. Inspired by a feral wild child, fresh out of the woods, this collection of rocker-like fashion for fall 2010 was another astute example of her modern design aesthetic; and with David Colvin, for ARROJO studio, hairstyling, every accent proved the perfect fit for the collection.
Models sported exaggerated, messy, wispy-textured hairstyles. In a nod to the trend in fashion for artificial hair texture, David used a crimping iron to create an ethereal base of weightlessness through the roots, fading softly through the ends, giving the hair gentle, yet defined, undulation.
