Friday, March 12, 2010 - 16:48 News: SHOW Report – International Beauty Show (IBS) New York 2010

IBS, Jacob Javits Center, New York, March 7-9, 2010. With an explosive runway show, insight and inspiration at the booth, trends and techniques in the classroom, ARROJO Ambassadors charting a new course of growth, excellence and education for all hairdressers, and Peacock TV following it all for a new reality TV show, crowds of raucous hairdressers heed ARROJO’s vision of hair, fashion, and style.

Putting the spotlight on ARROJO, the main-stage presentations of trends in hair shape and style. To a room-shaking soundtrack, and a provocative video production, male and female runway models sported modern, multi-textured styles, created with a trailblazing blend of round and square cutting techniques. Presented by Nick Arrojo and the ARROJO artistic team, and received with electric energy by a crowd, inspired.

Energy that swept into the ARROJO trade booth. Inside, stylists’ live model demos centered on the cuts from the two new ARROJO education DVDs, Razor Fundamentals 2 and Trend Volume 3. The demos and DVDs showcased the technical and creative approach to the looks just witnessed on main-stage, so it was no surprise to find a thirty deep gaggle in line to see the demos up close and to purchase the pioneering DVDs.

With Peacock TV following our show, the buzz snowballed to rock concert fever pitch by the time Nick took to the classroom for two tutorials of modern and creative, precision-based hairdressing. The Classic Cutting class centered on the importance of proper craftsmanship and precise technique; the Razor Advanced class on sophisticated razor techniques that unlock true creative potential. Both classes were so full that hairdressers were sitting in the aisles to see Nick’s approach to fashion-forward and functional, beautiful, wearable hair.

Drawing the most interest of all, ARROJO Ambassadors. Open for business days before the start of the show, Nick is now taking his product line used at ARROJO studio, academy and cosmetology school in NYC, to salons across America – complete with a back-end mentor and support, educate and inspire, program designed to maximize potential of salon owners and stylists.

“The program,” said Nick, “represents our commitment to provide inspiration and education alongside a great product line. We want to empower professionals to increase growth and productivity in their salon business, and immerse fellow hairdressers in our culture of excellence, integrity, and growth.” Words to resonate with a crowd eager to start a direct, mutually beneficial relationship with the industry’s leading independent brand.
