May 9-10. ARROJO Academy, NYC. Razor Fundamentals. Due to the popular demand for this, our most successful seminar, we doubled the class size, making for the biggest, most populated Razor Fundamentals ever to grace the ARROJO Advanced Academy.
Facilitated by Nick Arrojo, with a team of master stylist support educators, there was 1 educator per 6 students, creating an intimate hands-on environment to watch and learn, practice and master modern and creative techniques that unlock the complete freedom of the straight-edge blade.
The overriding philosophy of this two-day seminar: The razor is an excellent tool to create modern, low-maintenance hairstyles. It’s great for enabling swing and movement, creates a contemporary jagged line, helps you redefine texture, is perfect for short and messy and shaggy styles, and makes beautiful soft-shaped layers. Yet you can only do these things if you know the fundamentals of successful razor-cutting.
Ergo, the seminar focused on the fundamentals of proper technique. From Nick and the team, and through demonstration and supervised practice, stylists learned to razor-cut a one-length line, shape a graduated razor-cut, and layer effectively with the razor.
By improving technique and precision, Razor fundamentals gave the 28 class attendees the perfect platform to take their creative edge to the next level.
But don’t take our word for it, here’s a small selection of what this group of freshly inspired stylists had to say:
