Friday, October 21, 2011 - 10:36 News: Show Report: Vroom, Vroom, ARROJO Shakes Goldwell Color Zoom

Saturday Night Fever versus Scarface. Grand Master Flash versus Big Booty Bass. Disco divas, stacked wedges, and feathered tresses versus the long-fringed bob, voluptuousness and vice. 1970’s New York disco glitz and bedazzle versus 1980’s Miami decadent gangster glamor. In Nick Arrojo’s inaugural Goldwell Show,  two iconic worlds would collide.

The Color Zoom Global Event is an annual hair fashion show for Goldwell enthusiasts staged in a different world fashion capital each year. This year, thousands of color passionate stylists from across the globe came to South Beach, Miami, October 16th and 17th. The event includes the finals of the global Color Zoom Competition –– where more than 70 finalists compete for three prestigious prizes –– and the launch of Goldwell’s Color Trend 2012 Collection, FasciNature.

At the Gala Dinner, however, it was Nick and ARROJO that stole the show. A chic, trailblazing, hair-focused runway production representing two jewels of 20th century couture –– the heyday of Studio 54 and the dissolute pizzazz of Miami Vice –– through gravity-defying headpieces in a magnolia of brilliant colors proved the boldest imaginable way to announce our new relationship with Goldwell, our exclusive partner for color.

Mark your calendars for October 2012, when the next Color Zoom takes place in London.
