Boot Camp offers four weeks of intensive training to any stylist wanting to refresh and improve their skill set, accelerate their education, get a jump on the competition. A stunning success, this year’s Boot Camp saw sixteen students come from across the country and go from good to great, from potential to realization.

During the course, students learn, practice, master, the full gamut of modern and creative, precision-based cut, color, and styling techniques that are developed and practiced by our team of master stylists. It is a carefully structured program with each session designed to lead elegantly to the next piece of learning. 

In week one students focused on classic scissor cutting technique to improve their approach to the geometric and organic shapes that are the foundation of all hair cutting. Covering single processes, highlights and slices, creative and corrective color, week two was action packed and color-focused. Week three was defined by the practice of men’s hair cutting and proved an exhilarating week of insights and inspirations, with the understanding of these techniques bringing increased flexibility and style to the students’ work. In week four, we introduced the art of razor-cutting. The perfect course conclusion, all students embraced this signature tool to create some fantastically fashion-forward razor-cuts, and practice some of the most difficult techniques of razor cutting:  asymmetry, disconnection, undercutting.

For students to fashion one complete look that would represent their newfound technical and artistic scope, on the final day we provided each member of class with a model for color and cut and styling. 

How far individual skill-sets had come was clear: We saw long flowing layers with swing and movement; we saw composites of concave and square layering; we saw elegant side-swept and swinging bangs; we saw big, sexy curls; we saw perfect graduations; we saw contemporary, sharp-angled razor-cut bobs; we saw texture, elevation, strong shape; and for color we saw best use of natural parting and fall; we saw diamond shaped sectioning patterns that customized color placement and tone; we saw X pattern highlighting in three remarkable colors; and we saw the circle pattern used to create variation in hue, brightness and pop. 

It was a truly inspirational four weeks, which gave one and all increased confidence, creativity, and a foundation to build lasting, prosperous and rewarding career. But don’t take our word for it, here’s what students had to say after picking up their Graduation Certificates:
