Tuesday, July 13, 2010 - 16:26 News: In Former Chocolate Factory, ARROJO Presents Sweet New Deal

Power Plant Productions, Philadelphia, July 12, 2010. Nick Arrojo and the ARROJO Professional team begin their 3-city tour with an event featuring live model demos of the latest trends and techniques in contemporary hairstyling alongside innovation-driven opportunities for hairdressers to work together for the mutual good.

To a packed audience of fellow professionals, Nick’s motivational introduction centers on the intentions of ARROJO: “Our vision,” said Nick, “is to share our belief that education and inspiration is the best route to growth for hairdressers. We want to connect our award-winning culture to professionals like us, nurture a network committed to success, excellence and integrity in all elements of the craft.”

A conviction brought to life through the ARROJO Ambassador Program. As Nick explained, this is our direct-to-salon, ARROJO Professional product distribution business. With no middleman, and a business plan that allows Ambassador salons to send staff to NYC for free ARROJO education, this is no typical product-distributor-salon business model.

“The direct relationship,” continued Nick, “gives potential for more than 50% gross profit on salon retail sales; and there is a free seminar for Ambassadors at the ARROJO academy every month, as well as Reward Dollars for wholesale product purchases – dollars that can be redeemed against any of the nine world-renowned advanced education seminars at the academy. Ultimately we want to help all Ambassadors realize potential because your success is our success and our success is your success; together we can make a stronger, more dynamic industry.”

All told as the team presented three hairstyles, shaped with ARROJO’s approach to modern and creative, precision-based hairstyling. There was Nick’s classic razor bob with bangs; there was Lina’s razor-cut mid-length shag; and there was Amanda’s layered razor cut, with editorial styling and braiding techniques to complete her look. The lively and fun demos gave the enraptured audience contemporary techniques they can use to improve their work with clients everyday.

ARROJO Ambassadors, then, represents our commitment to provide education alongside a great product line. As a means to foster growth in salon businesses, and develop a culture where hairdressers lead a bright new future for the craft, we want to empower one and all to be more creative, inspired, technically precise, and professional.

It’s a great location for anyone looking for a venue for a show or shoot.

Wednesday, June 23, 2010 - 22:52 News: Special Event: ARROJO Open House

We believe the surest route to growth is education and inspiration, and we fancy we can share this culture with fellow hairdressers, create a nexus of hairdressers that work together to elevate the craft. It was these thoughts that gave life to the first ever ARROJO Open House. The revolution began at ARROJO, June 21, 2010.

With salon owners, creative directors, team leaders, managers and decision-makers all in attendance, it was time for the ARROJO artistic team, led by Nick Arrojo, to show what we do, and how it can help fellow hairdressers grow.

Live model presentations of latest trends in cut, color and style featured multi-textured looks created with a trailblazing blend of round and square cutting techniques; blocks of strong, bold color created with innovative foil pattern placement; and editorial upstyles created with adroit and inventive barrel curl sets.

It proved a clear vision of our approach to modern and creative, precision-based hairstyling; an insight to how proper craftsmanship shapes fashion-forward and functional, beautiful, wearable hair; and an introduction to the ARROJO academy, where all hairdressers can attend monthly seminars that teach techniques stylists can use to improve their work with clients every day.

Yet is was the conviction to get out in the field and support, educate, inspire, and maximize potential of salon owners and stylists, that was the most illuminating insight of the night.

“The ARROJO Ambassador Program,” said Nick, “is our direct to salon, ARROJO professional product distribution business. As part of the program we give free education to Ambassador salons and immerse fellow hairdressers into our culture of excellence and integrity. We are building mutually beneficial relationships with all Ambassadors; the goal is to improve standards of business acumen and hairdressing performance, create a network that works together to raise levels of craftsmanship and professionalism throughout the industry.”

Thursday, April 1, 2010 - 11:32 News: SHOW Report - America’s Beauty Show, Chicago, March 27-29, 2010

With a trailblazing runway show; dynamic classroom education; ARROJO Ambassadors charting a new course of growth, education, and inspiration for fellow professionals; and the biggest trade booth and team to date, ARROJO delivers a show-stopping, crowd-pleasing, performance of contemporary trends and techniques in hair, fashion and style.

It started with a runway show. Set to a simmering soundtrack, and slick background videos, models walked the catwalk, sporting the latest inspiration from the ARROJO artistic team. It is a genre-bending collection that forgoes the traditional techniques of hairdressing. Methods of round and square cutting, rather than be kept separate, are used in each cut. It enables stunning layers and texture whilst maintaining length and weight, creating flexibility within the shape; the looks can be sleek or tousled, shaping a new wave of modern multi-texture. Offset with blocks of strong bold color, this was a collection of romance and passion, and it set the tone for a stand out show.

In a packed-to-the-rafters classroom, Nick and ARROJO master colorists, James and Abbey, facilitate a Wella Hi Touch Class that puts the focus on the symbiotic relationship between color and cut. By highlighting how you can improve the shape and style of each cut with correct color placement and tone, the audience is rallied to find increased versatility, and a bold creative edge.

The ARROJO Trade Booth – with eponymous scissors, razors, brushes, products and combs all up for grabs; and with non-stop scissor and razor-cutting demos showing how to create those delicious multi-textured shapes from the runway show – is a cloud of get-up-and-go, the star of the trade floor show.

Launched in March, ARROJO Ambassadors – Nick Arrojo’s commitment to share his hair care line, and his education and inspiration with fellow professionals – receives its ABS Chicago premiere. Owner of Oya Salon, Brian Bode, was one of the first ‘Ambassadors’ to sign up to the program, and he is invited by Nick to work backstage with the ARROJO artistic team. Says Brian:

“I am confident that Nick Arrojo is the next brand to revolutionize our industry.  Nick has a strong vision for the future that includes the highest form of education, key business building tools that will push salons to be the best of the best, and products to align with the vision.  Oya is excited and honored to be a part of the Ambassador program, and we look forward to becoming the ARROJO showcase salon on the West Coast."

Friday, February 12, 2010 - 15:45 News: SHOW Report: At Long Beach, ARROJO Steals the Show

At the 2010 International Salon and Spa Expo––with new trends, groundbreaking education, a rollicking trade booth, and the launch of ARROJO Ambassadors––the ARROJO artistic team stole the show.

Invited onto main-stage, Nick and fellow master stylists displayed the latest trends and techniques in scissor and razor cutting, and color. It soon became clear that, for 2010, texture is the most dynamic trend. The focus of the cuts and styles was structure with looseness and flexibility; swing and movement, with length; short, edgy cuts that blend texture and elevation to create a “tough baby-doll” effect. For color, texture was created with intense, vibrant, reds, strong aspects of modern color blocking, and contrasted tones on darker hair.

After last year’s success, we were again called into the classroom to host a seminar presentation. Nick’s razor demo fused logic and creativity, individuality, flow and feel. His abiding message to his fellow hairdressers is to have passion, improve technique, and realize creative potential. The prescription, he says, is to “commit to the discipline of the craft and embrace the advantages of education.”

Continuing this theme at the buzz-worthy ARROJO trade booth, our master stylists exhibited the world-renowned techniques developed and practiced at our award-winning studio.  Dominating the action three innovative cuts from the latest ARROJO education DVD, Trend Volume 3. The SQround cut featured a trailblazing blend of round and square cutting techniques that enable layers and texture whilst maintaining length and weight; the Hybrid cut showcased a composite of concave and square layering to create a heavy layer, modern and edgy razor cut; and Shatter-Box highlighted how to layer from the top down, and from inside to out, to shape texture and movement, at any length.

Additionally, the launch of ARROJO Ambassadors was announced at ISSE. Nick is taking his product line used at ARROJO studio, academy, and cosmetology school in NYC, to salons across America––complete with a back-end mentor and support program designed to maximize potential of salon owners and stylists.

“The program,” said Nick, “represents our commitment to provide inspiration and education alongside a great product line. We want to empower each professional to increase growth and productivity in their salon business, and immerse fellow hairdressers in our culture of inspiration, education, excellence and integrity.”

The announcement brought a wave of excitement to ISSE and had the beauty press clamoring to find out more.  Interviews with Modern Salon TV, American Salon, Behind the Chair, and the Orange County Register, gave the inside scoop and made ARROJO Ambassadors the hottest piece of press at ISSE.
